Cool down with these delicious chocolate dip ideas…

Now that we have survived the deluge of May and are once again allowed to meet friends and family in the sunshine, it’s time to fire up the BBQ and head outside!

Of course, not all of the BBQ needs to be savoury, but in this heat, many desserts left out in the sunshine are likely to melt. So why not take advantage of that and create some wonderful summer treats for the whole family to enjoy.

Pretty much anything can be dipped in chocolate, and our bags of chocolate buttons are ideal for melting down and using for this purpose.

So, let your taste buds run wild and experiment, with some of these tasty ideas.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Skewers

Take some large juicy strawberries and pierce onto the skewer. Cover in melted chocolate and roll into a plate of sprinkles, then place in the fridge and chill until ready to serve.

Chocolate Dipped Frozen Lollies

Transform some basic ice cream lollies into a more attractive treat by first dipping them into a bowl of melted chocolate.

Then, add some of your favourite toppings. You could choose dessicated coconut, sprinkles, nuts, crunched up honeycomb or whatever takes your fancy.

Lay them onto a tray and freeze until ready to serve.

Chocolate Fruit Kebabs

Fruit Kebabs are usually a winner at any Summer gathering. Just pick your favourite summer berries, dice up some pineapple, kiwis, oranges, mangos, and load them onto skewers in a similar way to the strawberries.

Pour over, or dunk them, into the melted chocolate so that the fruit is fully covered.

For that extra wow factor, melt down a different chocolate flavour (our chocolate buttons are available in milk, white and dark chocolate) and drizzle over the top.

Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

Chocolate Pops

For the smaller hands amongst us you can make all of the above into Chocolate Pops by replacing the skewer with a lollipop stick – a wonderful way to get fruit into little ones.

Alco Pops

For the over 18s among us, there is no reason not to spice things up by soaking some pineapple cubes in Malibu or cherries in brandy before popping them onto a cocktail stick and dipping in chocolate.

These can then be added as a topper to your favourite summer cocktail or on a grazing plate for your guests to nibble on.

Top Tip

The children will love helping you to make these chocolate dip ideas, especially on the promise they can eat any leftover chocolate once you're finished, so why not set up a table outdoors and once done they can climb straight into the paddling pool.

Don’t you just love Summer?
